When I told four year old Ollie that he had a new friend coming to live with us to say he was quite excited to see who it was, is a little bit of an understatement!
I thought he might possibly be a little disappointed as he keeps asking me if he can have a dog and up till now I’ve been able to fob him off with all sorts of excuses as to why we won’t be having one! I’ve nearly run out so if you know of any more reasons why not to have a dog, please do let me know.
So when I introduced him to his new pillow pet – Ms Lady Bird while I was a little apprehensive, he was absolutely over the moon! He’d seen them on the TV and thought they were wonderful. He loved her, and I do have to do admit she is rather special.
She’s very cuddly, very pretty and can be wrapped up to be a cuddly toy, or you can undo her and make her a pillow which is very comfy to sleep on. We’ve also found another use for her. She sits as a pillow behind Ollie’s back while he’s sat in his car seat, which makes for a very comfy journey and a great travelling companion which he takes everywhere with him!
This week, Ollie has gone to Devon on holiday, and when it came to packing his toys, the first thing he was definite about taking with him was Ms Lady Bird. She is most definitely his new “best friend forever”.
Since Ms Lady Bird came to live with us, Ollie has been given his new class name for when he goes to school full time in September. Would you believe that his new class is called “Lady Birds”? How cool is that!
