Help us help children’s cancer charity NACCPO in our new campaign and MADs awards

Help us help childrens cancer charity NACCPO in our new campaign and MADs awards IN the coming weeks, Have a Lovely Time will carry a number of reviews of places across Britain that welcome families. We've already lined up some great attractions to report back from, all over the country.

In some cases, complimentary tickets will have been provided by the attraction or destination reviewed. Bloggers reviewing these places are asked to donate a sum to children's cancer charity, NACCPO.

At other times, bloggers may write about their favourite family-friendly haunts and urge readers to donate.

As explained on the NACCPO website, money raised will help :

  • Create a national voice for parents of children with cancer, by working with medical, government and charity organisations to address issues affecting children with cancer and their families.

  • Offer support and information to families who are not members of a support group and who may be experiencing difficulties associated with having a child undergoing cancer treatment.

We hope that we can boost our total raised for NACCPO by £250 and hit a target of £1,000, after our Great Panto Review campaign helped us on our way to more than £730. This may sound a modest target. But we know times are hard for many families (ours included) and every penny counts for this hardworking charity which has no budget for marketing or promotion.

NACCPO fundraiser Rachael Olley is a  Have a Lovely Time contributor.

Her reviews of Shugborough Historic Estate, Cannock Chase and a day in Lichfield, will be published as part of the series of reviews.

I hope you can consider helping us reach — or smash — our target and I very much hope you'll enjoy our reviews as well as finding new places for you and your children to have a lovely time!

As we are in the running for Best Family Fun blog in The MADs awards, we will also be seeking to help NACCPO, should we get any further in the final round after being named as one of five blogs left standing.

The prize for the eventual winner is supplied by sponsors Woolworths.co.uk.

They say:

The Best MAD Blog for Family Fun is a blog that inspires you to have more fun with your family, whether that’s cooking, crafting or taking days out together.

Woolworths.co.uk is looking for a creative blogger who comes up with great ideas for families to share together. Whether it's fun days out, boredom busting activities or ways to create the perfect family celebration – it's all about having fun together. It doesn't have to cost the earth or take up lots of time, but their ideas should certainly inspire a happy family.

The winner will receive an EEE PC touch screen netbook worth £319, a V-tech Advance notebook for the kids.

** Should we win, we will either donate the prize direct to NACCPO, or auction it off to boost our funds on our JustGiving page.
