Wanted! Nominations for a Mothers Day treat from Village hotels family meal and pamper session

KNOW any West Midlands mums who deserve a treat for Mother's day?

The Village Hotel Walsall is calling for  marvellous mums to be put forward for a pampering session and family meal.

The hotel, next to junction 10 of the M6, is offering to make Sunday 14 March extra special for one mum and her family with a makeover and hairstyling session by a hotel beautician along with a family meal for four at the hotel's Verve restaurant.

Village Hotel Walsall restaurant staff and mother and daughter pair Jill and Alison Fewtrell are pictured tucking in to a Mother's Day meal waffle with sous chef Michael Chambers.

“We know how hard mums work so we just wanted to show our appreciation,” said Damian Goom, general manager of the hotel.

“We’re asking people to tell us about their fab mums for this special Mother’s Day treat and we’ll make sure one of them gets the pampering they deserve,” he said.

The lucky family will enjoy a five course Sunday carvery which features food from around the world including pasta dishes cooked to order and freshly cooked American-styled waffles.

Dessert will include a special heart-shaped Mother’s Day chocolate waffle made especially for the day by head chef Rob Hawdon, which is sure to satisfy any chocolate lover’s cravings.

The marvellous mum will also get a memento of the day with a professionally taken photograph taken with her family.

The make-over and hair styling treatment will be provided at the Village Hotel in Dudley and can be arranged separately to the Mother’s Day lunch.

As the Village Hotel is a Passionate Media client (thats' what some of us do in our day job!) Have a Lovely Time readers can leave a comment on this post to nominate a mum, explaining why they feel the lady in question and her family should be able to snap up this offer!

I’d like to nominate my friend Lisa Ridgway. Lisa is a single Mum – she’s not had an easy time but her kids always come first. Every day Lisa also gives her Dad his insulin injections. This year she has been trying to raise money to help her sister and family when her young nephew Corey became seriously ill. This is the facebook group Lisa uses to keep people up to date on her fundraising efforts for her nephew.

She always puts her kids first, never buys herself anything and I think she deserves some pampering!

I’d like to nominate my friend Jo Boffey (www.jobeaufoix.com) she’s handled becoming a single mum in the last year whilst not being very well herself. Jo and her girls deserve a treat!

In a similar vein, I’d like to nominate Rosie. After reading this, which I thought was both honest and brave:

(Actually, it’s a shame they couldn’t both go as I think they’re friends in ‘real life’ too! x

I’d like to nominate the fabulous Josie, aka @porridgebrain, who blogs at http://www.sleepisfortheweak.org.uk. She also set up the new writers’ network http://www.judithsroom.com in what can only be described as awe-inspiring and record time. She’s a brilliant writer herself and fab mum who could really do with a lovely pampering treat.

  • Wellwisher

I would like to nominate Tapdiva from Twitter as she is too modest to put herself forward and Jayne Howarth as well she said she would stamp her foot if she wasn’t given a chance.

Id like to nominate the most cheerful person I know, despite the fact that the last 5 years have been extremly difficultfor her personally. She runs a successful business which she started from scratch and is the single parent of 2 little boys. She works so hard and has little time for herself. She is an excellent speech and language therapist and gets the best out of the children.
    She’s an inspiration!
