THE show opens with Fairy Liquid, Fairy Cakes and Fairy Lou singing Let Me Entertain You, writes Karen Phillips.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the singing. These modern songs were brilliantly adapted to suit the story and the local area.
The singing was powerful and the cast were animated and full of life.
The show was very well cast and we quickly lost ourselves in the characters - booing in all the right spots.
Even the ‘he’s behind you’ and ‘oh no they’re not’ moments were joined in enthusiastically by the grown ups.
I'd taken my 11-year-old daughter and her friend who both thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It took them back to a time where secondary schools and homework every night were not the norm.
Soon they were shouting loudly and forgetting to be cool, Which is, of course, what a pantomime is all about. The cast was small but extremely professional; the ad-libs were as funny as the scripted jokes and they all interacted expertly with the audience.
The whole show gave off a real feel good factor. It was a real gem of a performance and I can't recommend it highly enough.
