WHAT’S your favourite organised activity for children? The team at What’s on for Little Ones has announced the winners in its second yearly nationwide contest to find the best.
More than 14,000 votes were cast out of some 1,500 activity sessions nominated, writes Amanda Fazani.
Winners included:
• Best National Baby Development Activity: Water Babies
• Best National Toddler Development Activity: Sing and Sign
• Best National Pre-Schooler Development Activity: Gymboree
• Organix Food Hero: Kate Sanderson and Jackie Moon of Runner Beans in Birmingham
• Best New Activity: Runner Beans in Birmingham
• Best Local Activity: Runaround in Dingell, Ross-Shire.
• Most Outstanding Activity or Class Leader: Julie Maugham of TinyTalk in Cramlington
• Most Outstanding Community Led Pre-School: Sherwood Community Centre Playgroup in Nottingham
• Most Outstanding Baby and Toddler Group: Brunton Babies in Tyne and Wear
Now in their third year, the awards, run by What’s on for Little Ones, focused on the developmental aspects of groups and classes, and the expanding recognition of community groups.
Judges were Sam Willoughby, founder of the WhatsOn4 network, Roberta Jerram, founder of the Giant Potential Women in Business Network and Patricia Carswell (Ed’s note most excellent) journalist and founder of Coaching for Mothers.
